I believe that by "being heard and understood", can help all the ordinary woman in this world to be a better version of themselves
Hey there, I'm Retha! 🌸
I came into this world in Delmas, Mpumalanga on 12 July 1974 as Elisabetha Magaretha Janse van Rensburg, but you can just call me Retha. Growing up in Germiston, Gauteng, as the oldest of 4 kids in a poor family, life wasn't easy. I wrote my matric in 1992 at Afrikaans Hoerskool Germiston in Lambton, and let me tell you, it was a journey. Even now, I am uncertain about how I managed to pass my matriculation exams, but that's a story for another time.

I've been through a lot, including two marriages and raising two wonderful kids from my first marriage. More insight on this will follow in one of the other blogs. For 7 years, I worked in the motor industry. The last panel beating shop I worked for was closed overnight and I luckily found another position in the FMCG industry. It's been quite the ride, but I wouldn't change a thing, yes you heard me right I will not change a thing! Everything that has occurred in my life has taught me valuable lessons and shaped me into the person I am today. However, I view life as an ongoing journey of learning and believe that there are still many lessons for me to encounter and absorb in order to continue growing.
One of my lifelong dreams was to study B-Com Financial Management, and last year in June, that dream finally became a reality. I'm currently busy with my studies, and I can't wait to see where this new chapter takes me.
I've decided to start this blog to share my stories about life, dreams, childhood, work, marriage, and kids. I want this to be a safe space where we can all share and support each other. I never realised the significance of sharing experiences until my daughter began attending rehabilitation. Witnessing how individuals can better relate and accept change in their lives through sharing has been eye-opening. Sometimes, as women, we feel like no one understands what we're going through, but I'm here to tell you that you're not alone. Let's lift each other up and show the world the power of our collective experiences.
In this post, I am just providing a brief overview. However, once we delve into the specifics, you might be taken aback, or perhaps you will find a connection with my anecdotes, realising that you are simply a regular person and not unusual for your actions or words.
Many of us are unaware of the impact our words can have on those around us, and many struggle to communicate our emotions effectively. If we learn to communicate effectively and share our ideas and thoughts with others, we can positively impact many people in our community.
I'm so excited to connect with all of you and to hear your stories. I have so much to share with you and I do hope that this blog will help you. Let's make this a community where we can all feel understood and supported. Can't wait to embark on this journey together! 💕
